A peptide count needs an ingredient list

Hanae’s Silk Peptide EGF Serum attracts attention with a claim of 30 peptides and a copper-peptide story. The number describes the seller’s claimed roster, not how much peptide is in the bottle. Our October 14 check found a $34.95 price in the public product record. It did not establish a concentration for each peptide or a complete ingredient declaration that we could confidently match to the advertised serum.

That makes this a review of a partly documented cosmetic offer. We have not applied the serum, tested its composition or measured a change in skin. Before comparing it with a precisely labeled copper formula, obtain the ingredient panel for the bottle being shipped. The “facial toner” wording in its URL does not by itself settle whether the current presentation has a different formula or intended use.

EGF and copper are different questions

An EGF reference, a copper-peptide reference and a silk-related name can each describe a formulation idea. They are not interchangeable ingredient identities. In particular, a copper headline does not prove that the product contains Copper Tripeptide-1 rather than another copper-associated ingredient. The exact chemical name is the useful starting point for comparing this bottle with a published study.

A count also says little about the vehicle around the advertised peptides. Humectants, preservatives, solvents and fragrance ingredients can matter to the experience of using a serum. Without a verified full declaration, we cannot responsibly classify this product as fragrance-free or promise that it avoids a reader’s known problem ingredient. That uncertainty is recorded in the formula finder instead of being converted into a favorable filter result.

What the public research does not resolve

A research discussion about a peptide can support a plausible reason to formulate with it. It does not supply a controlled outcome for this finished serum at its actual concentration. The reviewed public material did not let us independently appraise a complete controlled trial of the marketed bottle. Consequently, we do not award a wrinkle-reduction percentage or treat the number of peptides as a measure of clinical strength.

Photographs and customer responses can be useful accounts of experience, but they need information about lighting, other products, follow-up and selection before becoming evidence of causation. The same restraint applies to descriptions of rapid improvement. Hydration, perceived smoothness and lasting structural change are different outcomes, and the public claims do not justify merging them into one promised result.

The purchase is clearer than the refund promise

The standalone $34.95 figure is a useful opening comparison. Shipping, tax, quantity selection and any recurring arrangement still belong to the actual checkout. Because package volume was not securely established for this review, we leave the per-milliliter field empty. A missing denominator should not be filled with the size of a similar-looking bottle from another seller.

More consequentially, the product’s 30-day guarantee language sits alongside a refund policy that generally requires unopened, unused goods and describes a separate reaction exception. Those statements do not establish an unconditional right to finish trying the serum and return it. Ask the seller, in writing, which terms govern an opened bottle and whether return postage or other deductions apply. A marketing promise alone leaves that question unsettled.

A reasonable place on a shortlist

Hanae may remain of interest to someone considering a relatively inexpensive multi-peptide cosmetic, but the missing formula information is a practical purchasing constraint. A full label and a clear explanation of the return exception would improve the decision more than another peptide-count headline. Compare the serum with alternatives whose current labels identify both the peptide and the supporting ingredients.

For any new skincare formula, the American Academy of Dermatology’s testing guidance provides a general way to think about introducing a product cautiously. It cannot certify Hanae’s composition or guarantee tolerance. Our present assessment is conditional: the price is documented, while identity, individual concentrations and the opened-product refund position need stronger answers before a confident purchase.
