A larger bottle with a hydration-led brief

Biossance lists the full-size Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum at $69 for 50 mL. That is a larger standard bottle than many 30 mL serums and much larger than the 15 mL NIOD options reviewed here. The bottle comparison is useful, but it should not obscure differences in formula or intended use.

The current page emphasizes dehydrated skin, visible plumping and firmness. Its blue color is visually distinctive. Color itself cannot tell a buyer how much active peptide is present, how stable it is or whether the serum will suit an individual routine.

The entire ingredient system matters

The ingredient list includes glycerin, squalane, sodium hyaluronate, copper tripeptide-1, ectoin, panthenol and sodium polyglutamate, among other ingredients. The base therefore offers several reasons a product might feel hydrating beyond its copper content. Other peptides and botanical extracts also appear in the list.

This is why a result should be described as a result of the serum rather than assigned to copper alone. If you are comparing it with a simple hydrating product already in your routine, ask what additional role you expect. More botanicals or actives are not automatically more suitable when an ingredient allergy is part of the decision.

What the 28-day results establish

Biossance presents findings from consumer and clinical assessments involving 31 women aged 30 to 65 over 28 days. The product page distinguishes the footnotes behind consumer impressions and measured appearance claims. A percentage of participants reporting a change is not the same as the percentage reduction in a wrinkle measurement.

These manufacturer-presented results are informative about the brand’s testing, but they are not a verified independent comparison against every copper serum. Their population, time period and routine should stay attached to the interpretation. They also do not establish that a different current formulation or another brand’s copper ingredient will produce the same outcomes.

Routine guidance has some flexibility

The page describes use before moisturizer and allows morning or evening application. Its guidance discusses pairing with a retinol product, while also suggesting separating some treatments between morning and evening. This illustrates why the exact manufacturer directions matter more than a universal claim that copper must never share a routine with other actives.

Follow the current package and seek advice if prescribed treatments or an active skin condition complicate the choice. Do not turn a general compatibility statement into permission to combine unlimited products. A comfortable routine needs fewer assumptions than a long list of supposedly complementary ingredients.

Assessing the bottle economics

The $69 full size is $1.38 per milliliter before tax or shipping. An 80 mL jumbo is also mentioned, but its price was not used for this comparison. Check which size is selected, especially when a promotion or retailer image shows more than one bottle.

This serum is a useful option to examine when hydration, bottle size and copper-peptide inclusion all matter. We have not tested its feel or effectiveness ourselves. Compare the practical benefit with the cost of your existing moisturizer and serum together, and avoid paying for a duplicated step just because the larger package appears economical.

Useful distinctions

  • Verified 50 mL full-size price
  • Detailed current ingredient list
  • Manufacturer separates study footnotes

Limitations to weigh

  • Hydration benefit cannot be attributed to copper alone
  • Small manufacturer-presented study population
  • Jumbo size has different unverified economics
